Welcome to the Community Kindness Garden

Spreading Kindness. Shredding the Stigma. One Kindness at a Time.

The Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce invites community members to join a ribbon-cutting celebration for the Community Kindness Garden at the Boyne District Library on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

A community gathering space where kindness grows, connections are made, and every person is reminded: you matter.

PAINT KINDNESS ROCKS!

Two free, all-ages events — open to everyone:

  • Stroll the Streets — Thursday, June 12, 6:00–8:00 p.m., library parking lot

  • Music in the Park — Tuesday, June 24, 6:30–8:00 p.m., Old City Park Gazebo (223 River Street)

Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors. Every rock you paint becomes part of something lasting.

What Is the Community Kindness Garden?
We believe a single kind word at the right moment can change lives.

At Surf the Earth Mental Health Community, our mission is simple: spread kindness and shred the stigma around mental health — one act of kindness at a time. Asking for help is brave!

The Community Kindness Garden is located at the Boyne District Library in Boyne City, Michigan.

Every rock in the garden carries a hand-painted message — created by people in our community.

Come visit. Take a rock. Share a rock. Leave a rock. Help us spread kindness across Northern Michigan and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you to Syndal Mills and the Boyne City High School students for painting and placing rocks during Mental Health Awareness Month — a beautiful start to the garden.

We're building the garden in phases — with community hands, community hearts, and community voices shaping every step. It will keep growing.

It fits right in with the Boyne Pride and our hometown spirit. We can't wait to see the connections it sparks, the conversations it starts, and the people it brings together.

Plant kindness. Let it grow.

Create Your Ripple

Every contribution is a ripple — and ripples reach further than you think. Your gift funds the materials, artwork, and installation that bring The Kindness Garden to life, plus the ongoing programming that grows alongside it.

Help us build something rooted, visible, and lasting in Boyne. Thank you for being part of it.
